i’d rather die enormous than live dormant

I really do try to be more consistant with my videos (as I promised) but I’m steady having technical difficulties! If it aint one thing, it’s another…and this time it was the fact that my Sony Vegas Pro 9(yes the stuff the pro’s use) trial expired and I was unable to get another. That, plus my slow ass computer turned an editing task that should’ve been an hour into a full day ordeal. Editing in Windows Movie Maker is a pain in the ass and honestly, I’m amazed I managed to pull this off. Naturally, the quality isn’t as HD as it would’ve been if I used my usual program but it’ll have to do for now. I’m looking for video responses with this video but if you don’t have a camera, feel free to comment on the video and it’d be mucho appreciated. Enjoy.

I think if it comes down to your passions & stability you should follow your heart & try to make your passions be the thing that keeps you stable. If you want to be an actress, be an actress. Just because you go to school, doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed success. There are plenty of college graduates who DONT make that great of money & there are plenty of college graduates who make tons of money but are miserable as all hell. IMO, there is no guaranteed route to success. I think success if what you make it and success means differently to people in various levels of society. Work your ass of at your 9-5, save up so you can set up the foundations to get to your goal (like as an actress you wont be able to get anywhere without a headshot) & start from there..figure out what you need to do. There is more to life than just money and alexis regardless of what anyone says you have to live life for you. The wealthiest people in the world didn’t get their by playing the rules…they played naughty. So do what you have to do. Being an actress..becoming a successful actress is attainable. The only time dreams were never reached is when the person themselves quit. Good luck.

WOW!!!!! Your ability to express ypurself is pure genius and you have a unique flair for drama that is smooth and not intoxcating. I truly feel your dilemma and my choice is obvious. I chose the non-9 to 5 route.I think your choice is a no brainer that you already answered in your video. 9 to 5s are not going anywhere they’ll be there if you ever really want to pursue them. You are already experiening the sacrifices that people make to follow their dreams now you need to be proactive.I told you before that life is like a movie . You are the producer director star cdasting director etc. etc. So you being the genius that you are probably say I do however need financial backing. This is a realistic and valid point. I personally wish I was in the position to just totally finance your dreams because I do truly beleove in you. I am working on trying to be in a better situation to help and if my plans pan out I will be. Meantime we have to keep your aspirations alive by moving forward and like Malcom said ” By any means necessary.” Alexis I do totally beleive in you and do not see your dreams as being a fanasy I truly know they are destined. I love you Princess and like Nike says “Let’s just do it.”

Dang, Solae* gave a bomb ass comment I can’t even compete with that. But, I just wanna say that you’re right… an advantage you have is that you have no kids/hardly any obligations in your life. You literally could just get up and book a flight to London and travel without worrying about shit back home. Keep working because at least you’re making money and can save money, but don’t forget about your dreams either. Idk, you have a lot of opportunities you just have to discover them someway, somehow.

I feel you I am obsessed with fashion, dance, and writing. But I feel as if I need something more stable as a career…such as something in the medical field which is guaranteed. But my mind is like…why do something that you don’t want to do? But my heart is saying go after your dreams. So I’m gonna go with my heart.

    mind vs. heart

Go with your heart… <3 Emme.

i’ve finally come around to comment on a video blog post of yours. bet you didn’t know i stay connected, did you. the reason i’ve finally decided to speak up is because my life is at the same crossroads yours is. fuck a 9-5, right? kinda. except money is a major issue. or, MIAMI. how can i fund my dreams? my passions? etc. it’s just a crazy ass catch-22, and i’m still in a position where i’m caught between a rock and a hard place. i could feel this.

oh, and your sketch game is vicious. to school or not to school? well, phillip t. from the award tour wrote an incredible post on that shit.

I wish I would have been as ambitious as you when I was your age… All I wanted to do was get married and have a baby, and I love my family but you really DO have the world at your feet. I didn’t have enough foresight to see that I would be unhappy working just to ‘get by’ and pay the bills in a job that I really didn’t want to do. I chose to go to college and now I have a degree that I haven’t done anything with. DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY and don’t settle for anything less.

Take chances while you’re young. Big risks lead to big rewards.

if you take a chance and it doesn’t work out, you can revert back to stability at any point. Once you’re stable, you become scared to take risks.

Good luck. Everything will work itself out.
